Blenheim Palace Exhibition Design

Blenheim Palace is an iconic landmark in Britain that attracts over 950,000 visitors annually, making it one of the most popular destinations in the country. Our team of exhibition designers has been given the task of using a suite of four rooms to display the palace's history and provide visitors with an immersive and engaging experience. To involve all stakeholders in the process, we will conduct the exhibition concept design workshop on-site. This will enable our designers to collaborate closely with the Blenheim Palace operational team to develop a comprehensive and captivating exhibition.

Lighting & Museum Design Consultancy

At London's Kempton Steam Museum, the world's largest operational triple-expansion steam engine is on display. From 1929 to 1980 it pumped large volumes of London's drinking water alongside its identical twin, which is taller than four stacked double-decker buses.

We will work with the Trust to improve the lighting, visitor experience as well as the overall appearance of the museum.

Exhibition Booth Design
SMA was chosen to design the TEFAF show booth for Omer Trioche Gallery, one of London's top contemporary art galleries in Mayfair. The gallery desired something distinct from the conventional exhibition booths seen during every Art Fair. We enjoy taking on new challenges, so we collaborated to create something unique in a limited area. Images of this intriguing design will be available in June.

Travelling Exhibition for Contemporary Art Collection
We've been hired to design the display for this collection of contemporary art that took its German owner 45 years to put together. The show will feature some of the best works from a collection of more than 500. Picasso, Rothko, and Warhol, to mention a few, have works in the collection. The process of determining a flexible design arrangement that will accommodate all four show places will commence.

Exhibition consultation and design workshop for Coventry City of Culture Trust’s 2021 spring exhibition of the City’s heritage from medieval to modern architecture.

Exhibition Light Focusing for Korean Cultural CentreUnusually for the "Love Your Depot" art exhibition each of the galleries used various modular stackable steel structures and high quality LED light battens to replicate visually a typical storage depot appearance.

Museum Design for Barnet 1471 Battlefield Museum
Our museum designers have been working with the Barnet 1471 Battlefield Society on their proposed new museum in Dancers Hill, Barnet. The Battle of Barnet was a pivotal battle in the Wars of the Roses.
Our responsibilities include creating themed layouts for each of the building's three floors and 20 unique rooms. The tale of the fight and the major characters, the Earl of Warwick and Edward IV, will be detailed on the ground and first floors. While the history of the home may be found on the bottom level. The museum's design incorporates both low-tech and high-tech elements to bring the war to life, including virtual reality and interactive game play.

Staging & Dressing Luxury Show Apartment

The staging and dressing of the showcase apartment atop the new DAMAC Tower has been finished by SMA design studios. From the 32nd level of this 50-story residential luxury complex, this apartment provides spectacular views of the Thames. Everything in the property is from Versace Homes, which fits in well with DAMAC's reputation for providing luxury living and lifestyles.

Exhibition Designers for AIPad Photographic Fair for New York City
An exhibition concept for this year's AIPad Photographic Fair in New York has recently been finalised by SMA exhibition designers. Unfortunately, the exhibition has been postponed due to COVID-19. This was our third project for this New York based collector of early rare books, manuscripts, and photos. Some of the greatest early pictures of President Abraham Lincoln and other notable historical figures would have been on exhibit and for sale.

Architectural Exhibition - Seoul Unfolded
This architectural display features an innovative grid-based design pattern. Each element is placed within a grid reference that is laid out across the Korean Cultural Centre galleries in this design. The exhibition's lighting needed to have a more contemporary vibe, with both wall wash and spot lighting. We expect to be able to share images from the exhibition soon.

EDF Visitor Centre - Nuclear Power Station
Design of an interactive Visitor Centre for EDF Nuclear Power Station in Somerset, starts in June. Our team look forward to working on this exciting project, unfolding the stories of nuclear fission.

The Negotiating Borders Art Exhibition
The Negotiating Borders art exhibition is based on the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) in South Korea and its border area with North Korea. Since its establishment in 1953, the DMZ has been one of the world's most heavily militarised areas.
This was the tenth exhibition at the Korean Cultural Centre that SMA design has assisted with including; exhibition layout, light installation and focusing of light fittings.

WOW factor for Museum Design!
Over the last six months, our museum designers have been hard at work on our largest-ever museum project. It comes with an unexpected brief from our clients: to create something unique! Return to Babur Michelin Guide Restaurant
Due the success of the first phase of art works and lighting design we have been asked to return to add drama to the Puzzle Wall central service area, rear atrium and other art pieces within the restaurant.

The AA Good Restaurant Guide review called Babur "a classy modern look, featuring striking art works and funky lighting”.

‘Munbangsau: Friends of the Scholar’ an exhibition of Korean Crafts which will be the 9th Exhibition we have assisted the Korean Cultural Centre UK with in London. The exhibition based on munbangsau – the four essential literary tools used by Confucian scholars (seonbi) during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897 AD). The exhibition reflects upon the spirit of the seonbi tradition in Korea.
